Brighouse Town reached the first qualifying round of the FA Cup with an impressive 4-0 win over Billingham Synthonia in a replay at the Dual Seal Stadium.

The teams had drawn 1-1 in the North East at the weekend, but Brighouse were on top throughout the preliminary round replay.

Two goals in each half saw Town through with Daniel Naidole giving them the lead and Ernest Boafa adding a second before half-time.

In the second period striker Tom Mathews scored after 57 minutes to put the tie beyond doubt with the third before Naidole rounded matters off with his second 11 minutes later.

It means they have booked themselves another clash with Northern League opposition as they are at home to Crook Town in the next round to be played on Saturday, September 14.
