Brighouse Town knew their trip to Glasshoughton Welfare was a crucial game in their push for the Northern Counties League Premier League title and they came away with a 3-1 win.

It was a boost after two draws and put third in the table Town eight points behind leaders Tadcaster Albion with four games in hand – they play Lincoln MR at home tonight.

Town took the lead when Leon Henry found Jason Price and though his shot was blocked it fell to Danny Naidole, who shot into the roof of the net.

Town then won a penalty and Ryan Hall made no mistake from the spot, sending Paul Hagreen the wrong way.

A floodlight failure at the interval had the game in jeopardy, but the contest continued and the home side hit back.

It took until 85 minutes for Brighouse to net their third goal when Joe Jagger released Naidole, and he cut in on his left and fired the ball home.
