Brighouse Town are holding two open trials to recruit players for their development and FA Youth Cup teams.

The Hove Edge club end an encouraging first season in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League when they host Northwich Victoria on Saturday.

The goalless draw at Prescot Cables last Saturday made it six games unbeaten for Paul Quinn’s side and put them 13th in Division I North.

Seven players who have come though the club’s system have featured in the first team in the NPL.

The development team are second in the Galaxy Lancashire League East Division and they will face Colne in the League Cup final at Ashton United on Sunday, May 10.

The development side are also through to the Halifax FA Cup final, and face Ovenden WR at The Shay on Thursday, May 7.

Meanwhile, Brighouse are preparing for a third Youth Cup campaign.

The trials are at the club’s St Giles Road ground at Hove Edge (postcode HD6 2PL) on Tuesday, May 19 (6.30-8.00) and Leeds Road Playing Fields on Saturday, June 6 (10.30 onwards).

Prospective players should be ideally aged between 16 and 20.
