Wellington Westgate A are into the West Riding County FA Sunday Trophy final after notching an extra-time win over Tadcaster outfit Britannia AFC.
The teams clashed at Woodlesford with the contest ending 2-2 after 90 minutes before a Jamie Jobarteh strike made it 3-2 to the Get Smart Kirklees Sunday League outfit.
Wellington will now play Northorpe United, who beat KSL side Dalton in a quarter-finals, in the showpiece at Woodlesford on Thursday, April 17 (7.30pm).
Wellington started the game well and took early advantage when Paul Pyke pounced on a mistake and curled in a floated shot from outside the area.
It remained 1-0 at the break, but Britannia started the second half brightly and not only got an equaliser, but went 2-1 in front from a corner that went straight in off the far post.
Wellington got back into the game and were awarded a penalty with five minutes to go, which Anthony Haigh blasted home to make it 2-2.
The first period of extra time was end-to–end, with both teams going for the win and, five minutes into the second period, Jobarteh put Wellington 3-2 up.
The goal sparked wild celebrations and, unfortunately, Jobarteh was sent off for taking off his shirt (his second yellow-card) offence.
Wellington saw out the last 10 minutes with 10 men, but with some resolute defending made sure of their place in the final.
