Huddersfield YMCA went down 3-2 in their West Riding County Amateur League clash with Littletown at Laund Hill.

And Golcar United took advantage by leapfrogging them into second place with a 3-0 victory over leaders Ovenden WR at Longfield Avenue.

Daniel Wilczynski, brother of Town development team goalkeeper Ed, grabbed both goals for YM, who Saturday’s result notwithstanding, have made a good start after promotion to the top flight.

Former Marsden striker Jon Newiss netted twice for Golcar, who also had John Beverley on target as Ovenden suffered a first defeat of the campaign.

With Bay Athletic sixth, Kirkburton are seventh after their 3-1 home win over Tyersal, secured by goals from Josh Cooke, Josh Ingham and Daniel Morgan.

Storthes Hall are eighth after going down 2-1 at Steeton but Lepton Highlanders, in 12th, picked up a welcome second win, 6-3 at Halifax Irish.

Liam Coughlan and Nathan Jackson notched two apiece with Richard Ianzito and Ben Tillson also on target.

Storthes Hall’s second string picked up their first point of the season in Division I, Shane Gaffrey scoring in the 1-1 draw with Campion Reserves.

Meanwhile new side DRAM Community maintained a fine start in Division II, beating Hall Green United Reserves 6-0 to stay top.

Joe Carter (2), Darius Matteson (2), Joel Franklin and John Fiddes were on the scoresheet.

DRAM, a merger of District League sides Moldgreen and Dalton Crusaders, have two points from their first four games and lead Dudley Hill Rangers on goal difference.
