Holders Wellington Westgate and Linthwaite Firsts have progressed to the fourth round of the West Riding FA Trophy.
A third Get Smart Kirklees Sunday League side – Walkers Hounds – will have to try again next Sunday after their game against Batley Irish Nash was called off due to a waterlogged pitch at Longfield Avenue.
Wellington beat Britannia AFC Tadcaster for the third season in a row in the competition – this time with a convincing 4-1 scoreline at Tadcaster.
A first-half hat trick from Ashley Flynn (who failed to add to his 50-goal tally for AFC Emley the previous day) gave them a comfortable 3-0 half time lead, with plenty of chances created.
The second half was a tighter affair with Britannia pulling one back on 60 minutes.
Wellington then had to weather a 20-minute spell of pressure.
But with seven minutes to go, Jamie Jobarteh headed in at the far post to restore the visitors’ three-goal lead.
Despite Flynn scoring three goals, Leigh Miller had a great game and earned the man of the match award, followed closely by Jamie Jobarteh, who was a constant threat to the home side.
Linthwaite also won away, with a 7-1 success against Armthorpe Village Crusaders.
On target for the KSL outfit were Courtney Allette with four goals, Steve Richards, Paul Day and Dean Siddiq.
