Jacob Butterfield scored on his 100th career appearance to seal a third win in four Championship games for Huddersfield Town after Blackpool threatened an amazing fightback.

The former Middlesbrough midfielder's long-range effort came in the 60th minute, and allowed home fans to breathe more easily after a 3-0 lead had been reduced to 3-2.

Town appeared to be in complete control after 16 minutes, with on-loan Wigan Athletic striker getting his first goal for the club before Harry Bunn netting twice.

Holt headed home from Conor Coady's cross in the fourth minute, while Bunn finished Sean Scannell's low delivery from close range for the second in the 11th minute.

When Bunn curled man of the match Scannell's 16th-minute pass beyond keeper Joe Lewis, Town looked set for a romp.

But a reshuffle by the visitors helped them stem the tide, and skipper Tony McMahon drove home a 20-yard free kick a minute before the break.

Then Donervan Daniels found himself in space inside the penalty area in stoppage time and fired into the bottom left-hand corner.

Ishmael Miller missed a gilt-edged opportunity to equalise before Butterfield made sure of the three points and a deserved home success.
