Fifty matches into his Huddersfield Town reign, Chris Powell accepts he will always be under pressure to produce wins.

His side claimed their first in eight games in all competitions this season, and 12 stretching back to last, at his former club Charlton Athletic.

It was the 13th win under his command - there have been 18 draws - and Powell is plotting another three points at home to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

“This is a start, but we have to keep pushing forward, and I want back-to-back wins,” said Powell, whose side climbed out of the relegation zone after their 2-1 success.

“Managers always need wins, and when you don’t get them, pressure builds. I understand how fans react and why.

“It’s been a tough period, because we have lost three major players (Jacob Butterfield, Alex Smithies and Conor Coady) and brought in a number of new faces.

“They have to get to know one another and the players already here, and it takes time which you haven’t really got.

“As leader of the group, you have to keep calm and keep your head and I knew we had something to work with, because we had been close to a win without being able to get one.

“I know the business we are in. It’s about results. I have belief in my players, I enjoy being Huddersfield Town manager and I want it to continue.”
