ADAM PEARSON is being linked ever more closely with Premiership club Derby.

The man who had a bid for Town turned down now appears close to investing at Pride Park.

Sources in the Midlands suggest the door has been opened following the exit of the club’s chief executive, Trevor Birch, last weekend.

There has been no official confirmation of interest from Pearson, who sold Hull City for £10m in the summer.
