NO-NONSENSE defender Danny Adams today urged his Town teammates: "Don't let the Chelsea FA Cup clash get in the way of what really matters this season."

Town have confirmed that the big third-round tie at Stamford Bridge will take place on Saturday, January 7 with a 3.00 kick-off.

Tickets will be £25 adults and £12 concessions, and while the exact allocation is yet to be confirmed, Town will be hopeful of taking a 6,000-strong army of fans.

But there are six League I games before the high-profile Cup clash.

And Adams is determined not to let attention lapse.

"I know the supporters will be excited about the prospect of a trip to Chelsea and rightly so," said the left-back, who will miss his first League game of the season at home to Southend United on Saturday week after picking up a fifth booking, and therefore a one-match ban, during Tuesday's disappointing 2-2 draw at MK Dons.

"But at this stage, none of the players should be even thinking about Chelsea.

"We have six crucial League games before then, starting at Bristol City on Saturday, and it's vital we keep our focus, because promotion is what really matters to this club."

Town, of course, will be without David Mirfin and Chris Brandon through suspension at Bristol after both were sent off at MK Dons.

Fans have until 5.00 today to buy tickets for the Ashton Gate game from the Galpharm.

Turnstile payment is available, but the price is £2 more.

Tickets for the Boxing Day derby at Rotherham United (12.30) go on sale at 9.30 tomorrow to season- ticket holders, Blue and White Foundation members and Patrons.

Town have been allocated 3,300 (£15 adults, £9 concessions) with any remaining tickets going on sale after the Southend game.

* Town players Chris Brandon and Mark Hudson will be signing autographs at the Sporting Pride shop in Cloth Hall Street between 6.00-7.00 tonight.
