AFC EMLEY manager Ian Banks will be looking for a much improved performance from his side tomorrow when they visit Brighouse Town (3.00).

Emley crashed out of the NCE League’s Presidents Cup on Tuesday 5-0 at Selby Town as the manager rested key players Steve Kenworthy, Marc Townsend and Lee Hill with an eye on tomorrow’s game.

All three are likely to start at Brighouse in what is a crucial fixture for both sides as they look towards promotion from Division I.

Hill is hoping to be fit after suffering a neck strain before last Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Glasshoughton, but influential midfielder Josh Wright will be missing for up to two months with ankle ligament damage.

Emley are currently in fourth place in the table with Brighouse sitting fifth – just three points behind.

Intriguingly the top six clubs in the table are all in action against each other with leaders Staveley facing Askern Villa and Tadcaster hosting Leeds Carnegie.

Next weekend the fixtures are reversed so two wins for any side could give their promotion push a huge boost.

AFC Emley: Clark, Ingham, Leech, Marsh, Brady, Stuart, Townsend, Scully, Wilkinson, Kenworthy, Amos, Armitage, Joice, Hill, Hazelden.

AFC Emley’s reserve side are in action tonight when they take on Ardsley Celtic Reserves in the second round of the League Cup (7.30).

Coach Darren Hepworth’s second string are currently third in the league table and unbeaten in their last six games.
