IAN BANKS’ first League match in charge of AFC Emley ended in defeat when his Northern Counties East League side lost 2-0 at Barton Town Old Boys.

Goals conceded either side of half time to Gareth Barlow on 43 minutes and Mark Anderson, on 46, condemned Emley to Division I defeat.

Brighouse Town, however, won 2-0 at Teversal with goals from John Booth (79) and Jordan Maltas (90).

Emley, however, have a quick chance to make amends when they travel to Askern Villa tonight (7.45), while on Saturday they start the long road to Wembley in the first preliminary round of the FA Cup, away at Formby (3.00).

A coach will be going to this game and supporters should contact the club for details.
