AFC EMLEY have revealed a raft of new signings who will feature in tonight’s friendly against Town at the Welfare Ground (7.00).

New manager Darren Bland has used his contacts at former clubs Hallam, Staveley and Worksop to bolster his squad ahead of the new Koolsport Northern Counties East League First Division campaign.

Adding genuine experience are defender Andy Brownrigg, 33, and midfielder Carl Smith, 31.

Brownrigg is a Sheffield-based former Hereford player who has also been on the books of Norwich, Rotherham, Greenock Morton and Hartlepool as well as a string of non-league clubs including Wakefield and, most recently, Worksop.

Assistant manager to Bland at Staveley, Brownrigg last year graduated in sport and exercise psychology at the University of Huddersfield.

Smith is a former Burnley player who also had a spell in Greek football with Ethinikos and has played for Worksop, Gainsborough, both Ossett clubs and Hallam, from whom Emley have also signed defender David Knaggs and midfielder Spencer Gough.

Martin Kearney is a much-travelled goalkeeper whose former clubs include Doncaster, Frickley, Spennymoor, Stamford, Leek, Staveley and Worksop.

Moving from Staveley to Emley are defender Tom Swann and frontmen Scott Bates and Teo Ringrose, a former Maltese Under 17 international.

Bland has also brought in Dinnington striker Liam Morris.

Former Darlington and Barnsley midfielder Josh Wright has left Emley for Staveley.

Squad: Clarke, Kearney, Joice, Leech, Knaggs, Westney, Hazelden, Swann, Brownrigg, Thorpe, Stuart, Townsend, Smith, Gough, Amos, Morris, Ringrose, Bates, Kenworthy.
