ADNAN AHMED was due back for Town training today - but waiting to see if Lincoln pursue their interest.

Like teammate Pawel Abbott, the midfielder's three-match ban ended on Saturday.

He spent last week training with the League II Imps, playing in a behind-closed- doors practice match.

"Lincoln rang up the week before last and asked if we would let Adnan go down there to train," said Town boss Peter Jackson.

"Given his suspension, we thought it would be good experience for him, because unlike some of the other players of his age, he's never had a spell out on loan.

"I spoke to John Schofield (the Lincoln boss), and he said he'd been pleased with the way things went.

"There has been no follow-up as yet, and with no disrespect to Lincoln, it could be that Adnan realises what kind of opportunity he has at this club.

"He's out of contract at the end of the season, and if he wants to win another deal, he has got to impress me over the next few months."
