ALAN LEE and Lee Novak are pushing for a frontline berth as Huddersfield Town try to re-ignite their Championship campaign by kicking off 2013 with an against-the-odds win at Leicester this afternoon.

Lee has finished a three-match ban while Novak, Town’s joint four-goal top scorer with James Vaughan and Adam Clayton, has been an unused substitute for the last three games.

Town, linked with a possible loan move for Sunderland’s teenage striker Connor Wickham, head down the M1 without Leicester loanee Jermaine Beckford, ineligible against his parent club, and Simon Church, who has returned to Reading.

They were the first-choice frontline duo for Saturday’s clash with Sheffield Wednesday, when Vaughan came off the bench for the final half hour of the goalless draw which left Town 16th in the table (Leicester are fifth).

Town will give tests Jack Hunt (knee), Calum Woods (groin) and Danny Ward (knee) ahead of their bid for a first win in 10 against Nigel Pearson’s promotion chasers, who could hand a debut to new striker Chris Wood.

“Everyone will expect Leicester to win, but we have players who are capable of getting three points,” said Town boss Simon Grayson, a former Leicester player. “We will go there and be positive.”
