Algerian international Karim Matmour is the latest player to be linked to Huddersfield Town.

The 30-year-old attacking midfielder is French-born, but has spent the bulk of his career in Germany, the home country of Town head coach David Wagner.

Matmour, who has 30 caps and played in the 2010 World Cup finals, is a free agent after leaving Kuwait club Al-Arabi in October after a contract dispute.

In Germany, he played for Freiburg, Borussia Monchengladbach, Eintracht Frankfurt and Kaiserslautern.

Wagner has spoken of his desire to add to current attacking midfield options Joe Lolley, Harry Bunn, Jamie Paterson and Sean Scannell
