INJURY-HIT AFC Emley were unable to close their Northern Counties East League First Division campaign on a high note as a burst of three goals in four minutes condemned them to a 4-2 home defeat by Staveley MW.

Emley went behind to Ryan Damms’ eighth-minute penalty but hit back to lead through Rob Day (39 minutes ) and Marc Townsend (65).

But the Chesterfield side responded through Joel Bates, Judd Colley and Scott Bates to leave Emley seventh.

They will fall to eighth if Hemsworth MW take two or more points from their final two fixtures.
