AIMBRY FC lead the Works League’s First Division for the first time this season following their 4-0 win over Hepworth United at Barr Street.

The unbeaten leaders, who are catching up on their backlog of League fixtures, came out on top thanks to Tarazi (2), Ginty and Whitehead.

Bay Athletic and Moldgreen Con kept in touch at the top, the latter gaining a good 3-2 win at Uppermill and Bay having a comfortable 7-2 win over luckless Heywood IC.

The League committee have decided that despite the backlog, they are to continue with running the inter-section competition which provides nine extra games in a separate competition to the two divisional championships.

The Hoyle Cup competition draw has taken place and is as follows:

1) Horse and Groom or Kirkheaton Rov v Sovereign Sports; 2) Bay Athletic v Hepworth Utd, 3) Aimbry FC v Moldgreen FC; 4) Uppermill v Lindley Lib.

Semi-finals: Match 2 v 1; Match 3 v 4, which take place on Saturday, April 10, and the final is at the Galpharm Stadium, on Tuesday, April 20.
