BAY Athletic came from two down to beat Lower Hopton 6-3 as they returned to West Riding County Amateur League action after a weather-enforced break.

Huddersfield’s defending champions – chasing Premier Division title glory for the fifth season running – are now handily placed in fourth.

They trail leaders Ovenden WR, 7-2 winners over Brighouse Town, by nine points, but have two games in hand on them.

Bay were trailing 2-0 at the break but turned it on in the second half to score through Nathan James (2), Danny Stocker, Brighton Mugadza, Declan Corby and Callum Hall.

Second-placed Tyersal’s derby clash with Campion was abandoned after 15 minutes due to high winds.
