BAY ATHLETIC survived a penalty shoot-out in their semi-final and will now meet Aimbry FC in Tuesday’s final of the Hoyle Cup at the Galpharm Stadium.

Bay fought out a nail-biting clash with Horse & Groom withfinished 3-3 after 90 minutes and extra-time.

Scorers for Bay were Allette (2) and Burns and they went on to win the shoot-out 4-2.

Aimbry progressed by defeating previously unbeaten Division II side Lindley Lib 2-1 at the Lepton Highlanders’ ground, and they will now make their first visit to the stadium since 1997, when they lifted the trophy.

Reid and Tarazi got the decisive goals while Smith replied for Lindley Lib.

In Division II, Ireti Athletic’s Dominic Verity continued his fine goalscoring spree by netting four in their visit to Uppermill Reserves.

Matthews and Aston also netted in a 6-2 win for Ireti.

Grange Moor came out 3-0 winners against neighbours Lepton, Aitken (2) and Makin on target.
