BAY Athletic could be West Riding County Amateur League champions by tomorrow night.

If they beat Halifax Irish at Syngenta tonight and Ovenden WR fail to defeat Brighouse Town tomorrow, the silverware will remain with the Huddersfield club, who are chasing a third success in four seasons.

And whatever the Halifax team do in their remaining five games, all of which are at home, Bay, who were 2-1 winners at Golcar United on Saturday, will be basking in glory if they collect four more points from the nine available.

After tonight’s game, which was originally due to have taken place last evening, Bay host Kirkburton on Saturday and Meltham a week tomorrow.

Tom Matthews and Jon Newiss netted as Meltham drew 2-2 at Marsden on Saturday.

And Dan Ingham notched twice to help Kirkburton beat Ardsley Celtic 3-0.

Chris Parker got the other goal while Rob Barnes hit the bar.

Meltham visit Lower Hopton tomorrow while Golcar go to Hall Green and Storthes Hall are away to Campion.

In Division II Storthes Hall reserves have a rearranged fixture at home to West Horton.
