RECORD-chasing Bay Athletic took another step towards an historic fourth successive West Riding County Amateur League title with a 3-2 home win over Lower Hopton.
Goals from Aaron Joseph, Kitson Gayle and Mat Mulvihill put the Huddersfield side four points clear of Albion Sports at the top – with a game in hand.
Bay are back in action tonight, when they travel to Tingley Athletic, before Saturday’s big match at Bradford side Albion.
Their four other games are at Wibsey a week tonight, May 11, at Steeton on Saturday 14, at Storthes Hall on Monday 16 and at home to Tyersal on Saturday 21.
Bay are chasing a treble, having already lifted both the West Riding FA and Huddersfield FA Challenge Cups.
Meanwhile their reserves are through to the First Division Cup final, and will face Salts at Lower Hopton on Friday, May 20 (7.00).
Salts beat Overthorpe 2-0 after extra time in their semi-final on Monday, the same day Tyersal won the Premier Division Cup by beating Ovenden WR 1-0 after extra time.
