DEAN SIDDIQ scored a dramatic late equaliser to rescue a point for Division I leaders Woodfield Park.

They trailed 3-1 with only five minutes to play against Second Division table-toppers Walpole Community but managed to salvage a draw.

The result maintains Walpole’s unbeaten record but they were frustrated to concede a massive two points when they seemed to have the game in the bag.

The Fell Promotions Kirklees Sunday League Inter-divisional clash started at a furious pace and Park took the early initiative with a penalty for handball, converted by Shane Kelly.

Walpole hit back after a spell of pressure earned them a free-kick in a dangerous area.

Doran Jordan struck a shot which proved too hot to handle and was spilled by the Park keeper to the onrushing Eddy Hamlet, who slotted home from close range.

The first half ended at 1-1 with both teams maybe thinking they should be in the lead, owing to the number of missed chances at both ends.

With 65 minutes played, Walpole turned the game on its head and took the lead when Jordan found himself a pocket of space, threaded a precise through-ball to Javin Clarke and he took the ball round the keeper to score.

Ten minutes later Walpole seemed to have wrapped up the game when Jordan went down the right and crossed.

The ball was only half-cleared to John McKenzie, who fired a fierce shot into the bottom corner for a 3-1 lead.

Tactical changes were made by Walpole to try to defend the lead, but it only seemed to invite Woodfield pressure and this paid off with five minutes left when Neil Robshaw was allowed to shoot from the edge of the box into the top corner.

The comeback was complete when neat work from tricky Park winger Dave Brennan down the right enabled him to square the ball from the touchline for Siddiq to slot into an open net for 3-3.

High-flying Division I side Black Bull edged out Division II’s second-placed Helion 3-2 to take over at the top.

Sykes (2) and Gary Bradley scored for Bull, with Michael Hall bagging a double for Helion.

Second Division Huddersfield Irish narrowly beat top-flight basement side Wellington A 4-3.

A hat trick from Adam Bell and a strike from Lockwood gave Irish the win, with Matthew Bermingham, Dom Harris and Richard Porritt notching for Wellington.

Division I Pak Rangers comfortably beat Meltham Victoria Park of Division II, playing some lovely football along the way and particularly in the first half when they led 5-1.

Pak Rangers’ scorers were Joseph Carter, Brighton Mugadza (2), Jamal Simpson (2), Adam Wright and Aaron Allison. Jamie Jobarteh, Jim Hamby and Craig Taylor were on target for Meltham in the 7-3 defeat.

Meltham were disappointed with probably their worst performance of the season, with only debutant Paul Waddington’s defensive tacklesŠ and man-of-the match striker Jobarteh (who could have had Ša handful of goals) standing out.

Woolpack returned after a five-week break to beat Inter Athletic 3-2 – their fourth successive win – in a great encounter at Almondbury Rec.

Inter started well, hitting a post, and they went ahead with a Martin Shaw own goal, but Woolpack had taken control by half-time without scoring.

Woolpack continued their pressure in the second half, with Dan Ginty hitting the woodwork with a cracking half-volley.

The Woolpack defence rarely seemed under pressure, and the midfield trio were powering through Inter with great strength and class.

The equaliser eventually came when a failed offside trap allowed Anderson to break through from a neat Arnold pass. He should have played it wide to Conroy or Ginty but, instead, he continued his run into what looked like an impossible angle but managed to somehow find the net.

Inter, however, quickly regained their lead following a succession of Woolpack errors in the box, but the frustration showed with another quick equaliser from a brilliant finish by Arnold.

Back level and with the momentum, it seemed their could be only one winner, but Inter kept holding out.

The winner eventually came just a minute from time from Conroy, who has scored in every game when the Woolpack have notched.

It was a perfect cross by Anderson, who had two players marking him at the goalline, and Conroy headed in at the back post.

Lowly Dalton beat bottom club Wellington B 7-2 to chalk only their second win of the season and leave Wellington still without any points.

Chris Milby opened the scoring for Dalton, only for Wellington to level minutes later.

Christopher Swift put Dalton back in the lead and Jamie Hartley made it three before Wellington got one back before half-time.

Dalton took control in the second half and two goals by Reece Nyland, one from Nathan Large and a second for Hartley, secured the points. Afsar and Regan were on target for Wellington.
