AN EXTRA time winner from Anthony Collins handed Heywood Irish the Richardson Cup as they beat Netherton 4-3.
It was tough to take for Netherton’s Alex Thomas who scored a hat-trick only to end up on the losing side.
Heywood took the lead through Jamie Temple, but Thomas equalised and then put Netherton in the driver’s seat from the penalty spot on 16 minutes.
Heywood were level five minutes before half-time when Danny Langfield hit the net from the edge of the box, but the second half proved a cagey affair until injury time.
Collins thought he had won the trophy in time added on when he netted for Heywood, but with 30 seconds still on the clock Thomas managed to send the game into extra time with another penalty.
On 115 minutes Collins found the net with a diving header to settle the issue.
