ROYAL Dolphins sealed promotion from the District League Third Division, but their 1-0 win over Holmbridge came too late to deny their opponents the title.

The Holme Valley side received the silverware, above, after registering 18 wins in their previous 20 games, scoring 79 goals in the process.

Their final fixture is away to Savile Town on Thursday.

It’s the club’s first title since landing the Division V crown in 1993.

At the other end of the table, Mount and AFC Waterloo will drop to Division IV with Shelley and Heyside coming up.

Shelley won 19 of their 20 fixtures, notching 129 goals and conceding just 21.

Lancashire team Heyside, who chalked up 16 wins and two draws, netted 123 times.
