HUDDERSFIELD Irish Centre’s big FA Carlsberg Sunday Cup fourth-round tie against Hetton Lyons at Spennymoor is on ice.

The clubs are scheduled to meet this Sunday (1.00) after a postponement because of a frozen pitch at Brewery Field, home of Northern League Spennymoor Town.

Sunday’s call-off means Irish Centre, aiming to reach the quarter-finals for the second season running, will have centre-back Josh Williams available.

Under FA regulations, another postponement would mean the tie being reversed and Irish Centre getting the chance to host Hetton at Emley.

Local Sunday football was wiped out by frozen pitches at the weekend.
