IN-FORM AFC Emley are bidding to extend their unbeaten run to seven matches at the Welfare Ground tomorrow (3.00).

Visitors are Northern Counties East League Division I basement side Eccleshill United, and Emley boss Ian Banks is determined to reap full reward.

His side are in good heart, lying second in the table and having recorded five wins and a draw from their last six matches.

That statistic puts Emley top of the league form table, although the boss is hoping his charges can be more clinical in front of goal after being held 1-1 at home by Appleby Frodingham last weekend.

"We created so many chances, free-kicks on the edge of the box and nearly 20 corners," explained a frustrated Banks.

"After the game the Appleby manager said that his team were lucky that it wasn’t double figures against them."

Eccleshill have had some heavy defeats this season, but they have now appointed Mark Senior as boss and, in his first game, they recorded their second win of the season over fellow strugglers Glasshoughton.

There should be no question of underestimating them, either, as Emley were held to a 1-1 draw at Eccleshill in October.

Banks has no injury concerns and welcomes midfielder Mark Stuart back into the squad.
