HUDDERSFIELD FA Minor team reached the semi-finals of the West Riding Cup, but in very unimpressive fashion.

Cravens, who had conceded 22 goals in their three previous matches, looked to be there for the taking on all known form.

And when Adam Hill gave Huddersfield the lead after only eight minutes, it looked a matter of how many.

Two minutes later, however, it was at the other end of the field that Huddersfield’s keeper Jordan Grout kept the score 1-0 when he saved a penalty.

There were no more goals although the Minors came close on a couple of occasions.

In the semi-finals, they are paired with Harrogate and the match has been arranged for Wednesday April 7 at Woodlesford.

With Harrogate’s record of four wins from four games, scoring 26 and conceding just two, it’s going to be a very tough call for Huddersfield.

However, if they play like they did on the first match of the season when they shared the points with a strong Leeds side, there’s no doubt they are capable of going through.
