THE all-Golcar derby in Division I was a feisty affair between Rose and Crown and Golcar Con and finished in a 3-3 draw.

It was never going to be friendly, and, after only 10 minutes a scuffle resulted in a player from each side being dismissed.

Rose had another man sent-off near the end and, in between times, seven players were booked, but the referee did an excellent job in a very competitive game.

Golcar Con took the lead on 25 minutes following end-to-end play as Simon Ollerenshaw rifled home.

Three minutes later, after a good move, Andrew Allison made it 2-0 to Con.

On 32 minutes Rose were awarded a penalty which Liam Madigan converted and, three minutes later, following a terrible defensive mix-up, Liam King equalised for Rose.

Two minutes into second half Con took the lead again. Chris Connelly’s free-kick was spilled by the keeper and James Dickinson was first to react and put the ball in the net.

On 67 minutes Liam King’s header from a free-kick put Rose level again.

In the last few minutes both teams tried for the winner as first Rose hit a post and then their keeper pulled off a fine save, but in the end a draw was a fair result.

Rose are now joint top with Huddersfield IC and Lindley WMC, who both won their games very comfortably.

Irish saw off the challenge of Marsh Lib with an 8-2 scoreline, a Kieran Ryan hat trick assisted by Matthew Tattersley, Nick Jagger, Darren Henighan, Adam Bell and Steven Brown taking them to that tally.

Lib’s only replies came from George Kenny and Andrew Hirst.

Lindley WMC went even better as they beat Kirkheaton 10-2 thanks to hat-tricks from Graham McLachlan and Karl Jones, a Lincoln Adam brace plus Freddie McGillvary and Brighton Mugadza.

Delroy Campbell and Michael Henriques were the only Kirkheaton players on target.

At Standiforth Rec Lepton Lib lost their unbeaten record in a close encounter with Wellington Westgate, who edged a 4-3 victory.

Leeds Road Wanderers notched their first points with a 10-1 triumph over pointless The Lockwood.

Hat tricks by Adrian Baker-Guy and Dale Joy, also a brace each by Paul Gledhill and Dale Brook completed the scoring, lifting the Wanderers to eighth place.
