KIRKBURTON’S Keiran Ryan scored both goals as the West Riding County Amateur League representative side beat the Birmingham Amateur Football Association 2-0 in the preliminary round of the FA National League System Cup.

There was a strong Huddersfield contingent in the County Amateur side, who are managed by Bay Athletic chief Richard Spychalski and will be at home to the Midland Football Combination in round one.

While neither leaders Bay nor third-placed Kirkburton were in Premier Division action, Storthes Hall went sixth with a 5-3 home win over Steeton.

Tom Mathews got two goals and Lee Mozley, Alistair Townsley and Roy Fogarty the others.

Marsden were unable to do Bay a favour as they lost 3-1 at home to second-placed Albion Sports, Jason Battye scoring.

Golcar went down 5-1 at Hall |Green, where Jacob Robertson netted.

AFC Emley Reserves, who were 4-0 home win over third-placed Ventus/Yeadon Celtic on Friday, are now seven point clear at the top of Division I after Salts slipped up, losing 2-0 at home to Littletown.

Bay Reserves are fifth after beating Dudley Hill Rangers 7-1 with goal from Daniel Ryan (2), Thara Jugal, Akia Abdulla, Barry Howe, Sam Jerome and Matt Mulvihill.

Second Division leaders Storthes Hall Reserves won 5-2 at Crag Road but second-placed Kirkburton Reserves went down 1-0 at Campion.

Lepton Highlanders, who are fourth, drew 1-1 at home to Morley Town with a goal by Jamie Instone.
