THE Hoyle Cup took centre stage with four more teams joining Sovereign Sports in the quarter-finals.

Division I’s top teams, Aimbry and Moldgreen Con, met at Barr Street and there was a surprising scoreline.

Aimbry came out on top 6-1 thanks to goals from Reid, Tarazi, Ginty, Fox, Ellis and Orton. The reply was by Acqua.

Kirkheaton Rovers progressed with a solid 4-2 win at Ireti Athletic.

Hepworth United and holders Moldgreen FC had impressive 3-0 and 4-0 wins respectively at Springhead and Grange Moor.

In the league, Sovereign Sports had a setback to their title hopes when they were held 1-1 at home by Uppermill, Carter netting the Sovereign goal.

Division II leaders Horse and Groom had a 2-1 home win against Colne Valley rivals Coach & Horses, Hampshire netting both for the winners.

Lindley Lib kept on track with a 5-1 win at Uppermill Reserves, Heath (2), Meadows, Smith and McLean finding the target to put their team seven points behind the leaders with five games in hand.
