ADAM BELL fired a hat trick as Heywood IC powered through against Kirkheaton in the Rollinson Cup second round.

Kirkheaton proved to be no match for the holders at Leeds Road Playing Fields.

Bell’s hat trick, Ashley Flynn’s brace and a Kieran Ryan strike put out their opponents with a 6-1 scoreline.

Liam Oldroyd’s goal was Kirkheaton’s only reply.

The semi-final draw, to be played on Sunday, March 28, (11.00, both at Leeds Road PF) now reads Hudds IC v Wellington Westgate, Marsh Lib v Lindley WMC.

In Division I, Leeds Road Wanderers are now bottom of the again reshaped league table following the latest round of matches.

They fell by the wayside against rampant league leaders Rose and Crown, going down 11-0 at Royds Hall.

Leading the scoring was Darren Blower, who netted four times, Liam Madigan twice along with Lee Shaw, Johnny Beverley, Luke Haigh, Marc Howland and goalkeeper Michael Firth. This victory leaves Rose and Crown with a five-point lead at the head of the table.

Third-placed Wellington Westgate and fourth-placed Marsh Lib played out a 2-2 draw at Dryclough Rec.

Gareth Bradley and Alan Elvidge netted for Wellington and Garry Robinson and Nathan Inman for Marsh Lib.
