THREE players from this area are hoping to help the Yorkshire Old Boys’ League representative side reach the final of the biennial National League Systems Trophy at Liverpool Soccer Centre today (2.00).

The team, guided by Elland club Ealandians coach Mark Reid, who has already taken his own team to two finals this season, have punched well above their weight in the FA rankings to get this far but now face a big test against Liverpool’s County Premier League.

In the squad are Ealandians players James Parkinson and Ian Simkins, along with Huddersfield Amateur player Sam Clark.

Attention to detail has so far paid big dividends for the squad and, if they believe in their ability, there is no reason why they can’t progress to what would be the biggest game in the YOBL’s 82-year history.
