BLACK BULL completed their season in the Fell Promotions Kirklees Sunday League in style moving into second place in Division I.

The Shepley side finished their campaign with a convincing 5-0 victory over Helion Albion with the Bull scorers Sykes, who bagged a hat trick, Dignan and Ingham.

However, the Bull have still to await the outcome of third place side Rose and Crown’s final two games – both against Pak Rangers who are already champions – to decide the division’s runners-up spot.

In Division II Dalton FC clinched second place after a 7-0 victory over Wellington B.

Wellington A could have gone level on points with Dalton with a win, however they not only lost being beaten 4-1 by Barking Spider, but Dalton had the better of the head-to-head result count with Wellington A.

Wellington A finished third, but they are probably still celebrating their Get Smart Trophy victory over Huddersfield Irish at Emley.

Barking Spider will have been pleased with their display against Wellington A as they controlled the majority of the game and led 4-0 through goals from Scott Thornton (2), Marcus Booth and Richard Carter.

Rob Mitchell grabbed a late consolation for Wellington, but Spider could have won more comfortably with Eddy Hunt missing two good chances and Thornton could have had a hat trick but for a fine save by the Wellington keeper.

Wellington had their moments and their best chance before their goal came when James Hamlett struck the woodwork with a thunderous drive from 20 yards out.
