JON STEAD is fully focused on facing Liverpool in the Barclays Premiership tonight, but the ex-Town striker will be back at the Galpharm on Saturday, April 9.

Blackburn's talented striker could well get a start at Anfield because Paul Dickov, who scored Rovers' penalty winner in the FA Cup quarter-final against Leicester, is a major doubt through groin and thigh problems.

Having scored the winner at Everton and featured as a substitute in the Cup-tie, Stead appears first choice to step up against Rafael Benitez side, who are aiming to close in on Champions League qualification while Blackburn eye points for survival.

Stead's April 9 date back home results from him just accepting the honour of becoming a Patrons Association vice-president.

The Association celebrate their 20th anniversary on that date with a dinner and disco and Stead has confirmed he will be among the guests.

The event - tickets are £16 including superb food and entertainment - is open to all Town supporters and bookings can be made by contacting Robert Pepper on 01484 321898 or at robertepepper@ntlworld.com

Stead's fellow vice-president Andy Booth will also be there along with members of the first-team squad and manager Peter Jackson.

Former Leeds Road favourites Frank Worthington and Keith Hanvey are also on the list with club owner Ken Davy, chief executive Andrew Watson and vice-presidents Alan Sykes and Gerry Murphy.

Bookings must be made by this weekend for catering purposes.
