SIMON GRAYSON was continuing to look for potential new Huddersfield Town signings today after waving goodbye to Antony Kay.

The versatile 29-year-old has signed a two-year contract with MK Dons at a time when Grayson has revealed there could be additional new faces at the John Smith’s Stadium before the transfer window closes at the end of this month. Grayson said: “Antony has been a good servant to the football club, but he needs first team football.

“The football club has moved on and I have brought in other new players. “It is only fair to allow players to go in search of first team football when you can’t offer it to them. I wish him all the best.” On signings, Grayson added: “It’s possible.

We are working extremely hard behind the scenes on one or two deals and we’ll just have to wait and see.” Kay, who trained with Karl Robinson’s squad yesterday and took part in their official photcall, said: “This is a great club with some great players and they have made some quality signings.

“They’ve been in the play-offs nearly every year I can remember, so hopefully we can go one step further this time and get promoted. “I think it helps having a bit of experience and knowledge of how to get promoted, so hopefully I can bring that to the club and the players and help us get up.

“Any player that has ever played against MK Dons knows how well they pass it and the way they play, and all footballers want to play that way. It’s one of the reasons why I’ve come here and I can’t wait to get started.” Kay joined Town in the summer of 2009 from Tranmere and made 48 appearances in his first season, scoring six goals.

In his second season he made a further 40 appearances, notching five goals, including the crucial late equaliser against Bournemouth in the play-off semi-final second leg – he then went on to score the winning penalty to send Town to the final.

Kay partnered Peter Clarke in the final as Town were beaten 3-0 by  Peterborough at Old Trafford. Last season, Kay played 31 times and featured 11 times under Grayson, the last against Bournemouth in early April.
