CONGRATULATIONS on a determined win on Tuesday. Given that the top six have almost identical home records, do you agree that our away form could be the difference between making the play-offs and going up automatically? Chris, Huddersfield

Jacko says: FIRST and foremost our home form has to be good.

Every team that achieves success does so with a solid home record and, thankfully, ours is good.

Away from home, I think it's fair to say we feel we should have picked up more points than we have and I agree we could do with an improvement on that score.

The win at Blackpool was our first away from home in three months, since Yeovil, and considering the away records of the top six are also very similar, a few more points on our travels will not go amiss.

It was a battling performance on Tuesday in horrible wind and rain at Blackpool.

For so many of our fans to turn up on such a bleak Valentine's night was a great tribute to their support and I know how appalling it must have been to sit out in the open and get drenched like that.

To provide almost a quarter of the crowd says a lot about the passion of our followers, and the support we've had all season away from home has been absolutely brilliant.

I'm just glad the team picked up three points to make it a happier journey home.

CHRIS BRANDON took a great penalty at Blackpool and played really well on the left. Does his form mean it's less of a priority to keep Danny Schofield on the books? Derek, Newsome

Jacko says: BRANDON did do well on Tuesday and he had probably his best second half of the season so far.

The penalty just before half time probably gave him that bit of extra confidence, but he looked extremely sharp and lively down the lefthand side.

Danny Schofield is still very much a part of my plans.

He is still on contract until the end of the season and he will remain a part of my plans whether we agree a new contract or not.

Danny is a quality player and you can't have enough quality players in your squad.

With Brandon, I just hope he keeps on playing well.

His final ball lets him down occassionally, but he has been a terrific signing for us.

He is a wholehearted player who gives 100% and he's very popular among the other lads in the squad.

TREVOR PARKES is the worst referee I've ever seen. How many marks did you give him on Tuesday? Mark, Holmfirth

Jacko says: I DIDN'T give him many, but I can't say too much on that score.

I did have a word with the lads about him before the game because I well remember his performance when we were down at Leyton Orient a couple of years ago.

On that day he had a shocker, one of the worst I can remember.

At least we came back with the three points.

WHAT is the latest on Tony Carss, who seems to have been forgotten? Ray, Almondbury

Jacko says: TONY hasn't been forgotten, he's just injured.

He is stepping up his rehab at the moment and we are hoping that he might be back in about a month.

Tony is one of those out of contract this summer, so it's a very frustrating time for him.

THERE is much talk among my mates about Fletcher. What are your thoughts and what do you feel is his best position? John, Dewsbury

Jacko says: I THOUGHT he was outstanding in the match against Colchester when playing down the right.

It's difficult to say what his best position is, though, because he is so versatile and he's just as effective down the middle.

I've been delighted with his progress. I monitored Fletch for a couple of years and I knew he would not let me down.

I can rely on him in training, his attitude is spot on and in matches his workrate for the team is just excellent.

His is one of those players who has missed out on selection a few times because of the strength of our squad. You only have to look at the people on our bench and those who can't even get on it to realise what a strong squad we have.

But he's in there on merit at the moment.

YOU say Dan Smith will get better with games but he looked vulnerable against Colchester. What do you see as his added value? Bob, London

Jacko says: DAN is a good footballer and he's got pace.

I have watched him a lot in the Reserves at Sunderland and he's got some quality.

Don't forget, he's only 19 and his first-team experience is limited to just a handful of matches at the moment.

I'm impressed with him and I'm pleased to have extended his loan, although there is a 24-hour recall in the second month.

He's one for the future, though, you can be sure of that.

I DON'T want to be too critical, but we need an experienced midfielder. Other teams have a blend of youth and experience, with the former learning from the latter. Such a signing may increase the wage bill, but the prize is massive. Isn't that what the Giants are doing with Robbie Paul? David Verlander, Salendine Nook

Jacko says: We do have plenty of experience in our side.

I do have to stick to a wage budget and there are teams in our division working on purses which are three, four and five times bigger.

We are not a club that can go out and splash money on players and we've had to work around free transfers, but spending money doesn't always work.

Forest dipped into the market before transfer deadline day and it hasn't paid off.

I'm happy with my squad and I'm delighted with the way we've been able to bring our young lads through to play alongside the likes of Andy Booth, Martin McIntosh and Co.

FANS are becoming increasingly incensed at your apparently negative attitude to Adnan Ahmed. What is your answer? Bob, London

Jacko says: I'M not negative to him in any way. Adnan simply hasn't reached the standards yet which I know he can play at.

People like Collins, Worthington and others have come into the side and done well and they are now in front of Adnan.

Last year, Adnan took his chance superbly but this time, when he's had the opportunity, he hasn't grabbed it in the same way.

That's not to mean he won't. He's a good player and when his chance comes again, hopefully he'll take it.

DO we still Rock the Casbah? Den, e-mail

Jacko says: THE lads got so sick of it I can't find the CD any more.

The lads bring in their own music now and we've got a bit of Bob Marley playing at the moment, but it could be anything.

Andy Booth has got the worst taste of the lot of them, though.

He likes the Osmonds and Wham!
