JAMES BERRETT is hoping for the chance to make his mark for the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad tomorrow.

Town’s 19-year-old midfielder is with Don Givens’ party for the friendly against Austria in Vienna.

Givens is going with youth, explaining: “We are still entitled to play the group of players born in 1986.

“But we have decided to go with the younger players as part of the build-up to the next UEFA Championships qualification campaign.”

The Irish have missed out on next year’s UEFA event.

Berrett, who was left out of the squad for Town’s game at Colchester on Saturday in order to focus on the Austrian trip, already has two Under 21 caps.
