Now the Skybet Championship fixtures are out I’ll be backing Huddersfield Town in the handicap market.

I have followed Town in the handicap for so many years that I daren’t not now put my money down – because if I decide not to follow them they will win it!

It’s a bit early for those markets to be in full swing, but now the fixtures are public it always gets you thinking about the new season and people can start planning their trips – including the opening day of the season at Hull City.

It won’t be an easy start for Town, but then what better way to start the season than to go to the KC Stadium and come back with three points?

Huddersfield Town will visit Hull City on the opening day

This is going to be a big season for Town and for Chris Powell and they need to get things right.

The start of last season was an absolute nightmare and after the shock of losing the manager on the opening day, it was always going to be a long slog.

Now, Powell has been in place long enough to put his own stamp on the team and, hopefully, that will lead to a top-half finish.

Fingers crossed, Town could even be pushing for the play-offs before the end of the season.
