TOP sports manufacturers Mitre and KooGa are backing the ‘Fans of the Future’ initiative launched by Town and the Giants.

The initiative is an umbrella scheme to attract young supporters up to the age of 16, with the aim of building the fan base of both clubs for generations to come.

Mitre, who are Town’s kit sponsors, are delighted to be involved in such an exciting development, and managing director Gary Hibbert said: “Huddersfield, like most sporting towns, is aware of the importance of a strong relationship with their community and involving children from a young age in the hope of securing their support for life.

“We were immediately interested in offering our backing to the initiative because we understand that the future of the club is largely dependant on having a fan base in years to come. We are delighted to be involved.”

KooGa are the new kit sponsors for the Huddersfield Giants and managing director Bill Newton added: “We are happy to support this fantastic initiative.

“It has so much potential and is very forward-thinking.

“The sporting potential in this town is huge and we look forward to helping both clubs realise this.”

Speaking on the behalf of both clubs Sean Jarvis, the director of business development for Town and Giants, said:

“We are delighted to add both Mitre and KooGa to the ever growing number of businesses who are supporting this exciting initiative.”
