HE’S the Birmingham City diehard who aims to help Walsall give Town a dose of the blues!
Meet Troy Deeney, the Saddlers striker who loves Brum so much, he’s had their badge tattooed on his leg.
Ironically, the 21-year-old spent time at Blues’ arch-rivals Aston Villa as a youngster, but was let go and picked up vital experience with non-league side Chelmsley Town.
Walsall picked him up, and after a loan stint at Halesowen, he’s graduated to the first team, earning bright reviews and forging a useful partnership with Darren Byfield, the experienced former Villa, Bristol City and Millwall man who is now in his second spell at Walsall.
Chris Hutchings manages Walsall and has three fellow former Town players in his squad – full-back Jamie Vincent, midfielder Dwayne Mattis and striker Steve Jones, the Northern Ireland international who was on loan at the Galpharm last year.
