BENIK AFOBE could be reunited with Lee Clark at Birmingham.

The teenage Arsenal striker, currently with England at the European Under 19 Championships in Estonia, scored eight goals in 35 games while on loan to Huddersfield Town the season before last.

Now Clark, who used his contacts at the Emirates to land Afobe, could make another bid for the 19-year-old frontman, who played three times on loan to Reading last term.

Afobe, who helped England win the European Under 17 Championships in 2010, had figured for Arsenal’s first team in the pre-season Emirates Cup, only to suffer a groin injury which kept him out for six months.

West Brom have confirmed the appointment of Kevin Keen as joint assistant head coach alongside Keith Downing.

Keen previously worked with Baggies head coach Steve Clarke at West Ham and Liverpool.

Stoke have agreed a deal with former Rangers midfielder Jamie Ness, who will move once international clearance is received.

The Scotland Under 21 midfielder is a free agent after exercising his right not to have his Rangers contract transferred to the ’newco’ formed in the wake of the Glasgow giants’ financial problems.

Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan’s long-term future could become clearer later this week.

Reports in the United Arab Emirates have suggested the 26-year-old Ghana international will undergo a medical with a view to completing a permanent move to Al-Ain, where he spent the bulk of last season on loan.

Southampton will ignore any bids for full-back Luke Shaw.

The 16-year-old has been linked with a move away from St Mary’s and reports suggest Chelsea are poised to offer £4m.

Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal have also been linked with the latest product of Southampton’s academy, which has produced the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Gareth Bale and Theo Walcott.
