BRIGHOUSE Town lost some ground in the Northern Counties East League’s Premier Division.

They slipped back to fourth in the table after a 2-2 draw at home to Thackley, while Scarborough Athletic’s 2-1 win away to Hall Road Rangers took them up into third place.

Brighouse had looked in good shape from the astart and they opened the scoring on eight minutes through striker Tom Mathews.

However, the away side had turned the game round by half-time with Thackley 2-1 up at the interval thanks to goals from Dempsey Smith and Brice Tiani.

However, Brighouse striker Ernest Boafa at least ensured the spoils were shared with a well-taken equaliser for the hosts on the hour mark.

Brighouse are in NCE Premier Division action tonight when Long Eaton are the visitors to the Dual Seal Stadium (7.45).

A win would take Town back above Scarborough – who they visit in the league on Saturday.
