MARTYN BOOTY has finally put down roots!

The 34-year-old coach has been travelling to the Galpharm Stadium from his home near Leicester for the past two and a half years.

Now, in the last 48 hours, the Booty clan have completed their move to the Holme Valley.

"We've been looking to move up here for quite a while but it's only now that we've been able to sort everything out," said Booty.

"It was important to get everything right for my wife and our two kids and, obviously, we had to sell our house and buy another.

"We've gone for the Holmfirth area because we were told there were good schools out there.

"Our daughter has another year before she goes to high school and our lad is seven, so it won't be long before he is moving up.

"From my point of view, it will obviously be a lot better for work to be here and, to be fair, I love it in Huddersfield.

"It will do me good not to be trailing up and down the M1 all the time and, when we've been here a few weeks, I'm sure our accents will change and we'll become country bumpkins!"

Booty is at the very heart of the Town operation - close to the players and a valued member of Peter Jackson's staff.

"I love my job and the club," he said.

"Even though I was very verbal as a player, I never really thought about coaching until I came here, met the gaffer and Taff and they gave me the opportunity.

"It's only 18 months or so since I was part of the playing staff and it's hard not being involved on that side any more, but I'm still very close to the lads.

"I'm a sort of middle man between them and the senior management and it's great being on the training ground every day.

"I've always got a smile on my face and it's great to be at a club where we've got a winning mentality and everyone gets on well together."
