PETER JACKSON praised his players for the quality of the win at Oldham.

Jackson - who brought back Tony Carss for Michael Collins in midfield - was delighted with only a fifth win in 17 visits to Boundary Park over 84 years.

"I asked the players for a response to that defeat by Scunthorpe and they gave it to me," he enthused.

"We wanted to prove we were better than that result and I said all along that if we could keep a clean sheet at Oldham we would win.

"If we can keep more clean sheets, we will be right up there in this division, I've no doubt about that.

"And we couldn't have a better game to look forward to than Brentford at home now we've got these three good points under our belt.

"It's top against third, we'll have the backing of our fans with a really good atmosphere and, I have to say, I thought they were brilliant on Saturday."

Jackson added: "Gary Taylor-Fletcher will always get goals - his second was a wonderful finish - and he links well.

"While we came under little bits of pressure, I thought we passed it pretty well and kept our discipline. That was important after the Oldham dismissal and I thought the lads did well."
