HUDDERSFIELD Town have confirmed arrangements for their Capital One Cup first-round clash with Bradford City – and fixed up a friendly at Bradford Park Avenue.

The home meeting with last season’s League Cup finalists City will be on Tuesday, August 6 (7.45), three days after the sides open their Football League campaigns.

Town are in Championship action at Nottingham Forest on Saturday, August 3 while promoted City start life in League I away to Bristol City. Cup-tie prices are adults £15, Over 60s £10 and Under 18s £5, with family tickets available in the Fantastic Media Lower Stand at £15 for one adult and one junior, when purchased in advance.

The Fantastic Media Upper Stand will not be in use for the clubs’ third meeting in this competition, and their first since City were penalty shoot-out winners after a 2-2 draw in the second round of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at the John Smith’s Stadium in 2011-12.

The other League Cup clashes came in 1987-88, when Bradford were beaten 3-2 on aggregate over two legs in the first round, and at the same stage in 2008-09, when Town were 4-0 home winners in a one-off tie.

Meanwhile Town will send their Under 21 team to Avenue on Wednesday, August 7 (7.00).

Town development coach Steve Eyre’s father Fred played for Avenue when they were a Football League club.

These days, they operate on Conference North under manager John Deacey and play at the Horsfall Stadium.

It’s the fourth friendly fixed up for the Under 21s, who reached the inaugural Professional Development League II play-offs last season.

They go to Radcliffe Borough on Friday, July 19, Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday, July 23 and AFC Emley on Friday, July 26.
