BOURNEMOUTH boss Lee Bradbury said his side’s display against Huddersfield Town at the Galpharm on Saturday was their best since they pushed Lee Clark’s side all the way in last season’s League I play-offs.

In May, Town came through on penalties after a second-leg thriller in West Yorkshire which finished 3-3 after extra time.

Bradbury’s boys gained a measure of revenge by clinching their first win over Town in 20 attempts thanks to Harry Arter’s 19th-minute winner.

"This has to be our best performance since we came here in the play-offs last season," said Bradbury, whose side are unbeaten in six and up to 14th in the table.

"The players must take a lot of confidence from this result and we have to do this week in, week out.

"It’s all about consistency. We went in at half-time 1-0 up but it could have been two or three."

Former player Bradbury, who took over after Eddie Howe left for Burnley last January, added: "I always felt this was a game we could win.

"The energy levels and workrate were different class and we were well organised and hard to break down."

The Dean Court manager utilised Shaun Cooper as the deep-lying midfielder in a 4-1-4-1 system and explained: "The formation worked very well.

"Shaun is a good passer of the ball but also an intelligent footballer who can win his aerial battles.

"He gave us that vital but of protection against Jon Parkin.

"I watched Huddersfield’s game at Charlton when they dropped a lot into Jon, and if you let that happen, he can cause you problems."
