LIVELY midfielder Chris Brandon goes straight back into the Town starting line-up at Colchester United tomorrow (3.00).

The 29-year-old was rested to the bench against Blackburn but played the whole of the second half at Ewood Park because Junior Mendes failed to make an impact.

Brandon now returns at Layer Road - where Tom Clarke is also expected back in defence after suspension - as Town bid to pip Swansea (who entertain Forest) at the top of League I.

"We travelled down yesterday to make sure we are nice and refreshed for the game and we're working at Ipswich Town's training ground," said Jackson, who has David Mirfin (hamstring) in his party to continue his rehabilitation.

"The lads are all in great spirits and keen to get cracking again after the other night, when I thought the biggest plus for our club was the support we got from our fans (total 4,986).

"Several Blackburn players and Mark Hughes commented how fantastic our support was and I can't remember a better atmosphere being generated either as a Town player or manager."

Jackson has warned his squad to be wary of Colchester's set pieces, which have helped them to 12 points and 14th slot in the table.

"They are very, very dangerous at free kicks and they've got two guys who can launch the ball into the area from long throw-ins," he said.

"They've also got variation at corners, so the key to us doing well is defending properly."

Lee Fowler is due to spend two weeks training with Boston with a view to a loan.
