CHRIS BRANDON will be back in contention to face Oldham on Saturday after serving a one-match ban.

The 28-year-old midfielder had hoped to play at Prenton Park as Town appealed to the FA against his red card from the Blackpool match on Saturday.

Disciplinary chiefs at Soho Square, however, decided by lunchtime yesterday to uphold the decision of referee Colin Webster - even though the video clearly showed Brandon having his shirt pulled first.

"I'm disappointed the appeal failed, but at least it's only a one-match ban," said manager Peter Jackson.

"The referee admitted after the game it looked like he'd made a mistake. The whole appeals process is pointless."
