BRADFORD-born Chris Brandon still can't believe he didn't score against his boyhood favourites.

The 28-year-old was denied by a post in the first half and goalkeeper Paul Henderson in the second as Town slipped to 13th in the table with a 1-0 defeat.

"I was gutted the first shot didn't go in," he recalled.

"How can the ball hit the inside of the post, go right across the goal and then spin out for a goalkick?

"I still can't believe it, but it was that sort of day for us when we didn't get any luck at all in the box.

"With my second chance, I hit the shot well but it was probably at just the right height for the keeper.

"Anywhere else and I would probably have scored, but it wasn't to be and the defeat is hard to take. I would have loved to have scored and won."

On the season, Brandon added: "We are now at the crucial stage at Christmas and we have to start picking up some points.

"We have to make sure this defeat is our lowest point of the season and we start making the Galpharm our fortress again.

"Like the gaffer says, it's our home form which is really letting us down, and that's sickening when we've got such fantastic support here every week."
